Learn More About Susan Krebs
Susan Krebs and her family have called Carroll County home. Her roots in the community go well beyond elected office. Over the years, Susan has served with local schools, nonprofit organizations, youth programs, health organizations, and community groups throughout Carroll County. Her professional background is in business administration, accounting, and finance. She earned her degree from Towson State University and worked as an accountant and financial consultant before and during her years of public service.
Susan first entered elected public service on the Carroll County Board of Education, where she served from 1999 through 2002 and served as board president from 2001 to 2002.
She was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in 2002 and served Carroll County in Annapolis for 20 years, from 2003 through 2023. During that time, she served on committees dealing with health care, government operations, business, economic matters, and other issues affecting Maryland families.
In September 2025, after Commissioner Ed Rothstein resigned, Susan was nominated by the Carroll County Republican Central Committee and appointed by Governor Wes Moore to complete the remainder of the District 5 term.
For Susan, returning to government was not simply about returning to public office. It was about returning to work on behalf of the community she knows best.

WHY DID SUSAN GET BACK INTO PUBLIC SERVICE?
It became increasingly apparent that strong forces were turning the Eldersburg/Sykesville area (Freedom District) into a hodgepodge of uncontrolled high-density residential and commercial growth, with little planning or investment in infrastructure such as schools, roads, and open spaces.
She saw utility and property tax bills rise, with no accountability or action.
She could not sit idly by and watch this transformation of our community.
