In the House - Serving South Carroll
Despite an increasingly partisan legislature during her second term, Susan continues to pursue better quality of life for Carroll County residents. With her extensive voting record against new taxes, Susan continually strives to create a better environment for small businesses and to alleviate the economic burden on the middle class. In this spirit, she sponsored a bill to eliminate the Death Tax for middle class families.

As a member of the Financial Literacy task force, Susan is developing programs to ensure that our children receive the education necessary for responsible and careful financial planning. In fall 2006, Carroll County became the first school system to implement a financial literacy curriculum. This program helps students understand budgeting, banking, credit and investing, skills that are increasingly relevant in our economic climate. Susan also won passage of her bill restricting credit card companies’ ability to market on college campuses in an effort to further educate students on financial responsibility. |

Susan stands together with fellow members of Ladies in Leadership, an organization of female legislators that supports promising conservative candidates. |
