Delegate Krebs Announces Open Space Funds for Two Sykesville Parks

Board of Public Works Approves $18,750 as State Share

Delegate Susan Krebs announced today that Old Main Line and Bloomfield parks in Sykesville have won $18,750 in state Open Space funds for improvements. The Board of Public Works voted this morning to spend the money to pay 75 percent of the planned projects’ costs.

The state will contribute $11,250 toward the $15,000 iron fence to be built at the quarter-acre Old Main Line Park in downtown Sykesville. An additional $7,500 in state funds will help pay for a $10,000 wood gazebo with a cedar shake roof at Bloomfield Park, formerly Winner/Talon Lane Open Space.

“These projects will enhance the very unique heritage we enjoy here in Sykesville,” Delegate Krebs said.
