Del. Susan Krebs, R-District 9B, will be speaking to the group Eldersburg 2020 about Carroll County’s draft comprehensive plan. The meeting will be held at 6 tonight at the Entrepreneur Factory, 1532 Liberty Road, Eldersburg.

The comprehensive plan, known as Pathways to Carroll County’s Future Landscapes, is currently under review by the Carroll County Planning and Zoning Commission.

Most activities at the Entrepreneur Factory are business related, but the Eldersburg 2020 group was formed to address issues that affect both businesses and communities, Entrepreneur Factory owner Doug Howard said.

Even though developing the plan is the county’s purview, Howard said he asked Krebs to speak because she is the only official to specifically represent the Eldersburg area.

District 9B encompasses the southeast corner of Carroll.

Krebs said she isn’t an expert on the plan and that she is speaking to the group as a citizen.

She said she intends to talk about staying involved with the process and reminding residents the changes in the comprehensive plan could affect their homes or businesses.

“[A comprehensive plan] is only as good as the people that get involved,” Krebs said.
