Delegate Krebs Awards Scholarships
Delegate Susan Krebs has awarded $34,600 total in state scholarships to 33 students in her legislative district. Awards ranged from $500 to $2,000. Money for the scholarships comes from the Delegate Scholarship Program, created by the General Assembly in 1957 for students who plan to attend colleges, universities, or career schools in Maryland.
“These students demonstrated a commitment to learn, lead, and give back to the community. I have no doubt that they will go on to do great things,” Krebs said. A committee of Carroll County educators evaluated the students based upon the following criteria: leadership, community service, extracurricular activities, academic achievement and work ethic.
Graduating seniors from Century High School receiving Scholarships from Delegate Krebs are as follows: Alexander Engler, Alexander Gaines, Samantha Kass, Deanna McKeiver, Daniel Meadows, Heather Morris, Shaun Morris, John Murosko, Richard Parks, Adam Patterson, Ame Roberts, Tyler Stephey, Molly Sweeney, and Alyssa Tierney.
Delegate Krebs awarded scholarships to the following graduating seniors from Liberty High School: Robin Alonge, Allison Bradley, Robyn Dozier, Matthew Gillen, Nicholas Hallis, William Ham, Samuel Hill, Christine Hoke, Amy Koman, Eric Lamdin, Jordan Marcucci, Daniel Martinez, Amanda McCracken, Julie Meros, Kara Salaga, Megan Slack, Timothy Souders, and Annemarie Triano.
Delegate Krebs also awarded a scholarship to Julie Dembeck of Notre Dame Preparatory School.
Delegate Krebs’ District 9B scholarship applications for the 2010-2011 school year will be available in February.
