Back Home in Eldersburg

When Susan is not meeting with constituents or attending community meetings, she enjoys spending time with her family, including their Labrador retriever, Libby. Susan and Mark’s oldest daughter Heather and her husband Sean live in Raleigh, NC. Both are graduates of Elon University in North Carolina, and Heather works at Duke University. Stacey, their younger daughter, is working toward her master’s degree at Salisbury University, where she is an assistant volleyball coach and health instructor. Their son Brian attends the University of Maryland at College Park. Susan’s parents, Janis and Bill Wolf, live just down the street in Eldersburg.

Susan has been an active member of Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church for more than 20 years. She serves on the Board of Directors for the church’s preschool, the Early Years Learning Center. She also serves on the advisory board of the Historical Society of Carroll County. In addition, Susan works to prevent teen drug abuse by participating in Not My Kid programs during back-to-school nights each fall.

Susan and her husband, Mark, raised their three children in Eldersburg.

Parents Janis and Bill Wolf never dreamed their Susan would have such close ties to a Maryland Governor.

Susan is a member of the Carroll Hospice Board of Trustees and is dedicated to compassionate care for terminally ill patients. She serves on the Honorary Board of Directors for another South Carroll organization, the Joanna M. Nicolay Melanoma Foundation, which is dedicated to fighting the most lethal form of skin cancer. She is also a member of the J.O.S.H. Foundation, which is working to build an Angel of Hope statue to honor children who have passed away.
